Original Danish Pea Soup

The Danes claim that this is one of their fastest national dishes: it takes only 10-15 minutes to prepare. True, they miss that another hour the soup needs to sweat on the stove. But it does not matter, because the original Danish pea soup turns out to be incredibly tasty and fragrant.

Smoked meats take to your liking. I love smoked chicken breast or pork ribs. One sprig of thyme is enough, it's here for a light spicy aftertaste. In the cold season, this soup is especially relevant: it turns out rich and very satisfying. The Scandinavian countries are very fond of such dishes.


Dry peas - 2 cups

Smoked pork ribs - 200 grams

Onions - 3 pieces

Carrots - 2 pieces

Celery stalk - 2 pieces

Olive oil - 2 tablespoons

Water - 6 glasses

Dried parsley - 4 tablespoons

thyme - to taste

Salt - to taste

Black pepper (ground) - to taste.
